Acting President and Prime Minister Han Duck-soo at an economic policy meeting in Seoul on Thursday directed Trade Minister Ahn Duk-guen to prepare "emergency support measures" for the country's auto sector and other industries that will be hit by the U.S. tariffs, according to the trade ministry.

According to a joint statement released after the meeting that was held on Sunday, the countries are committed to promoting "regional and global trade", which is crucial given the current global trade environment.
