Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan after the recent terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has called for calm and urged both nations to pursue de-escalation.

India said on Monday it had responded to 'unprovoked' small arms firing from Pakistan along the de facto border for the fourth consecutive night, as it deepens its search for militants in the region following last week's deadly attack on tourists in Kashmir.

Following the Pahalgam attack, India vowed to retaliate against terrorists, but China's support for Pakistan complicates matters. Despite condemning the attack, China urged a "fair investigation" and reaffirmed its support for Pakistan's security interests.
