More rain could be on the horizon for the hard-hit area, according to forecasts from the National Weather Service.

More than 8 inches of rain fell in Kerr County, resulting in major flooding along the Guadalupe River. While the river is starting to recede upstream, flooding is expected Friday night along the Guadalupe River downstream from Comfort to Spring Branch.

The flooding brought the Guadalupe to its second-highest point in history, according to the National Weather Service, which urged people in the affected area to move to higher ground.
