CBS targets Aaron Rodgers as a blockbuster replacement for Tony Romo after the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback was placed on an indefinite leave.

Romo spent 13 seasons with the Cowboys from 2004-16 after originally signing as an undrafted free agent. He joined CBS' broadcasting crew shortly after retiring and has since been partnered with play-by-play man Jim Nantz. CBS announced Friday that J.J. Watt will replace Romo in the booth until further notice.

Attention over the last week has largely centered around former NFL quarterback and current CBS Sports color commentator Tony Romo. Romo was arrested on July 23 on suspicion of operating a vehicle while intoxicated following a golf tournament.

J.J. Watt replaces Tony Romo on the CBS No. 1 NFL broadcast team alongside Jim Nantz and Tracy Wolfson as Romo's long-term future is unclear.
