NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte met with officials from Denmark and Greenland on Monday to discuss “collective security” as President Trump pushes to acquire the semiautonomous Danish

Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen called on Monday for NATO to do more in the Arctic, announcing that he and Greenlandic Foreign Affairs Minister Vivian Motzfeldt aimed to discuss this with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

A Congressional delegation is visiting Denmark to offer support to the country and NATO allies as Trump continues his push to take Greenland.

As part of the move, which the Trump administration has communicated to some European capitals, the U.S. will eliminate roughly 200 positions from the NATO entities that oversee and plan the alliance's military and intelligence operations, said the sources, who requested anonymity to discuss private diplomatic conversations.
