The Philadelphia 76ers completed their preseason run on Friday night with a victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. As expected, the team made a handful of roster moves on Saturday, beginning to finalize their roster.
Embiid, who has been rehabbing from injury and played in just 19 games last season, has practiced with the Sixers consistently during camp.
ESPN's Tim Bontemps noted in the ranks that Embiid was "obviously a top-10-caliber player" if healthy for the 2025-26 campaign. Both Bleacher Report and CBS Sports ranked Embiid at No. 26, and each outlet noted he would be ranked higher if his health this season could be guaranteed.
Embiid is expected to play in the 76ers' final preseason game. While back, Embiid would be on a tight minutes restriction.
The Sixers had three players finish with more than 20 points, including rookie V.J. Edgecombe. The No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 Draft stuffed the stat sheet in 34 minutes, recording 26 points, six rebounds, five steals and three assists while shooting 55.6 percent from the field.
