Watches and warnings: A tropical storm watch has been issued from South Carolina's Edisto Beach to Little River Inlet. This menas tropical storm conditions are possible in the next 48 hours.

A weather system tracking the Southeast U.S. coastline has officially strengthened this Friday into Tropical Depression 3, according to the National Hurricane Center.

This new system will be short-lived, but it's expected to put a damper on holiday weekend plans along parts of the Southeast coast.
