DNR Forestry Director Patty Thielen called current weather and fire conditions "unprecedented," saying the number of fires so far in 2025 is 3 times the average.
The Northland Wildfires have led to frantic moments for those forced from their homes and businesses. That includes a kennel owner in Brimson, Minnesota, who had to flee with dozens of dogs.
As Minnesota experiences a highly active spring wildfire season, with approximately 500 wildfires reported since April 1, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is urging the public to take wil
