Qualcomm has announced the X85 modem, and this part is expected to power a new wave of flagship Android phones at the end of the year.

At the core of the X85 is the Qualcomm 5G AI Processor, a built-in AI accelerator that’s part of the modem. It’s 30% faster at handling AI tasks than older versions, which means things run quicker, smarter, and with less drain on your battery, according to Qualcomm. Its new X85 5G Modem-RF is not the first Qualcomm "modem-to-antenna solution" to include AI; it’s the fourth overall, succeeding the X80 introduced a year ago .
