With the Texas Rangers idle and the Seattle Mariners beating the Los Angeles Angels, the Astros lost their lead in the division, albeit temporarily, and now share it with the Mariners.

In Tuesday's game, Astros' starter Luis Garcia had to be removed from his start after just 1.2 innings pitched due to an apparent injury. Garcia missed the majority of the 2023 season and all of the 2024 season. He had Tommy John Surgery in May 2023, and that held him out until September of this season.
