One person has been killed and 21 others injured after Russia launched a large wave of missile and drones strikes on the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv.

The Kyiv region was pounded with hundreds of drones and missiles overnight and into Sunday in a mass bombardment of Ukraine’s capital and surrounding area.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram that one ‌person was killed after a ⁠nine-story residential building in the capital's central district of Shevchenko was hit.
