BTS will not submit music for consideration at next year’s Grammy Awards, members of the K-pop supergroup announced Wednesday, a little over a month after the Recording Academy confirmed that the 2027 ceremony will include an Asian pop music performance category for the first time.
The massively popular K-pop boyband announced they would not submit for consideration for the Recording Academy’s awards this year, in apparent protest of a new Asian Pop Music category.
"I am saddened to hear that BTS has chosen not to participate in the Grammy Awards process this year," said Grammy CEO Harvey Mason jr.
