Cam Newton calls Patriots’ Super Bowl path ‘joke,’ but his was easier
Former New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton seems to make a living off of antagonizing the fan base that once bought his jerseys. Since becoming a prominent media personality, Newton has targeted one team more than the rest: the Patriots.
There is more evidence to back up Newton's claim beyond just the playoffs. The Patriots played by far the easiest schedule in the NFL this season, with a .391 strength of schedule. They also had the lowest strength of victory (.370) out of all the teams that reached the postseason.
Drake Maye is a Charlotte, North Carolina kid. And he grew up there when Cam Newton was the star QB for the Carolina Panthers in that city. These days, of course, Maye has grown into a superstar quarterback for the New England Patriots, now in his second season, preparing to play in the Super Bowl.
NFL analyst Jason Whitlock criticized former quarterback Cam Newton for his comments on former Cleveland Browns coach Kevin Stefanski's treatment of Shedeur Sanders last season.
