NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte is in Washington for talks with President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth as well as members of Congress.

In response to the escalating threat, President Trump confirmed Monday that the U.S. will send additional Patriot air defense missiles to Ukraine. He noted that the European Union would finance the purchase of what he described as "various pieces of very sophisticated" U.S. weaponry.

In addition to the tariff threat, European allies plan to buy military equipment and then transfer it to Ukraine.
