The duo's relationship have been subject to scrutiny, since the president's travel policies could pose a potential threat to both fans and players coming to the U.S. for the World Cup.

Trump Tower has served as the home base for FIFA officials in the past. Notorious former Concacaf general secretary Chuck Blazer — who served as a key informant in the U.S. government case that took down Infantino’s predecessor Sepp Blatter — had two apartments at the building: one for him, and one for his cats.
