India and the European Union have agreed to a major trade deal after nearly two decades of on-and-off negotiations.

While the recently concluded India–European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA) drew attention for its implications for automobiles, textiles .

The trade agreement is expected to be among the most comprehensive deals that India would sign, which could benefit India’s labour-intensive sectors, ranging from marine products, textiles, footwear and sports goods.
