The Tigers turned a 2-2 game into a blowout, exploding for nine runs in the seventh inning to defeat the Yankees 12-2 on Tuesday night.

Together, Fernando Cruz and Mark Leiter Jr. gave up nine runs while recording no outs in an historically bad seventh inning, turning a tie game into a blowout 12-2 loss to the Tigers on a crisp night at Yankee Stadium.

After ending August on a 7-1 run, the Yankees’ offense has virtually vanished in September as the Pinstripes have scored just 11 runs over their last five games. I do think the Yankees buck that trend tonight, though, as the Tigers are opting for a bullpen game.
