Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer joined the world’s leaders at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland this week.

The governor’s office said he plans to speak at the gathering of world political and business leaders and urge them to “stand up” to President Donald Trump, who will also be in attendance.

The president spoke to a wealthy audience at the Davos economic forum in Switzerland as Republicans back home press him to focus on affordability, a top concern for Americans getting squeezed by higher prices ahead of the midterm elections.

She participated in talks ranging from electric vehicles to state economic policies.

Six in 10 respondents said Trump, who is a billionaire, has had a negative impact both on global economic stability and on affordability for everyday people since he took office last January.

Gov. Andy Beshear is spending the week in Europe with a delegation from Team Kentucky, attending the World Economic Forum and meeting with company leaders in Finland, Sweden, and Switzerland.
