The divisional round of the NFL postseason is officially underway, and it started with a familiar face picking up a win. The Kansas City Chiefs advanced to the AFC Championship by beating the Houston Texans 23-14 on Saturday.

The first day of the divisional round of the playoffs was a thriller around the NFL. The Washington Commanders had a massive upset victory over the Detroit Lions and advanced to the conference championship game for the first time since 1991,

The Washington Commanders, led by rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, shocked the Detroit Lions to advance to their first NFC Championship since 1992. The Lions, who entered the playoffs as the NFC's top seed after a franchise-best 15-2 season, couldn’t overcome five turnovers in the loss and succumbed to a 45-31 loss.

One team that booked its trip to the conference championship on Saturday is returning to a comfortable place, having gone seven straight years. The other hasn’t been on a stage this big since 1992.

The sixth-seeded Washington Commanders stunned the top-seeded Detroit Lions Saturday night to advance to the NFC championship game. They’ll be on the road in that game, at either the second-seeded Philadelphia Eagles or the third-seeded Los Angeles Rams.
