The Colorado Avalanche had major interest in adding J.T. Miller from the Vancouver Canucks before he was traded to the New York Rangers.
Since arriving in Vancouver, Miller had been an elite point producer with stretches of excellent two-way play. This season didn’t go as smoothly as his feud with Elias Pettersson boiled over. Miller was also clearly banged up starting from opening night and took a significant leave of absence.
A blockbuster NHL trade on Friday night sent Vancouver Canucks star center J.T. Miller to the New York Rangers.
The Rangers may not be done making moves after their January blockbuster acquisition of J.T. Miller with the NHL trade deadline approaching.
Like Miller, Mogilny had a 100+ point season with the Canucks, putting up 55 goals and 107 points in the 1995-96 season, which is fourth-best in franchise history. Mogilny also exited the Canucks with the second-best rate of points-per-game in franchise history at the time behind Bure and is now third behind Miller.
The club's recent play has rather obviously clarified how Canucks management should approach this Friday's deadline.
