BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - A task force of South Dakota firefighters led by Hunter Noor of the North Dakota Forest Service, is still out west helping manage the California wildfires. This past Monday, Jan. 20, the firefighters received a pleasant surprise when Prince Harry visited their location to thank the team and learn more about their work.

The same week that Prince Harry’s landmark case against Rupert Murdoch’s News Group Newspapers went to trial in the U.K., the Duke of Sussex met up with firefighters and therapy dogs in Salinas, California amid the devastating Southern California wildfires.

The Senate confirmed Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) as the next Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security on Sunday during a weekend vote, as Republicans overcame efforts by Democrats to delay the process by using procedural hurdles.
