The Dallas Mavericks have had a month-long stretch of consistent negativity and making the fans feel as bad as possible about supporting the team. The fans were sticking with the team through all of the injuries and a sloppy stretch in December and January, but then they traded away Luka Doncic, and fans have been up in arms ever since then.

One person who was in attendance for this game was former Mavericks team owner Mark Cuban, who has made no secret of his affinity for Doncic over the years. After the game, Cuban simply said “I hated it,” when asked what it was like to have to root against his former franchise player, per Tim MacMahon of ESPN.

Hosted by Jeff Flake, the former ambassador to Turkey, who represented Arizona in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate, Cuban also touched on his candid views about politics, at times criticizing both parties — despite opposing President Donald Trump in the 2024 election.
