The Baltimore Orioles suffered their third consecutive loss on Wednesday, dropping a 5-3 final at home to the San Francisco Giants. The Orioles, 26-30 since the All-Star Game, are now five games back of the New York Yankees in the American League East -- the largest deficit they've faced at any point this season.

BALTIMORE - The skidding Baltimore Orioles lost to the San Francisco Giants, 5-3, Wednesday night at Camden Yards. Mike Yastrzemski homered on the game's first pitch, Michael Conforto also hit a solo shot for the Giants, who took the first two games in the series.

For a moment, all was forgotten. It didn’t matter that the Orioles had recently lost nine of their past 12 games as the postseason approached, or that their closer had blown a save or that their center fielder had just been shaken up after a scary collision.
