Angelina Jolie reflected on winning her Academy Award after watching her father Jon Voight, after he separated from her mother Marcheline Bertrand, attending the 1979 Oscars with another woman. The ‘Maria’ star accepted the Maltin Modern Master Award from Ava DuVernay at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

The 49-year-old actress began by recalling the year her father, Jon Voight, won the Academy Award for Best Actor for 'Coming Home' in 1979.
