Francisco Lindor becomes Mets’ first fan-elected starter since 2016
Lindor was the only Met announced as a starter. Freddie Freeman beat out Pete Alonso at first base (61 percent to 39), and Juan Soto finished fifth among outfielders. Ronald Acuña Jr., former Mets prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong and Kyle Tucker will start in the outfield for the National League.
The Mets made a lineup change and put Francisco Lindor second on the batting order, and it ended up working out.
