Congressman Don Bacon, Republican from Nebraska, has announced his intent to retire from the House at the end of his current term. Bacon has become known as one of the few Republicans willing to openly criticize President Trump– or engage in good faith with Democrats.

Now, House representatives are voting on another procedural measure, which would allow them to open debate and then move to a final vote for passage. As midnight has passed, five Republicans have so far voted no - two more than House Speaker Mike Johnson can afford.
