IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex advanced 355.14 points or 0.44% to 82,612.69. The Nifty 50 index added 124.35 points or 0.50% to 25,209.80.

In the Nifty 50, Hero Motor and Sun Pharma led the gains of the index. Eicher Motors and IndusInd Bank were also trading higher.
