Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Health has launched proactive disease prevention measures, increasing surveillance at Tan Son Nhat International Airport for travelers arriving from areas experiencing Nipah virus outbreaks.

The Vietnam Administration of Disease Prevention under the Ministry of Health has issued an urgent dispatch calling for enhanced surveillance and prevention of the Nipah virus at border gates nationwide.

Local authorities have been instructed to strengthen disease prevention and control measures at border gates, medical facilities and in the community, stay updated with global disease information, and closely monitor inbound travellers.
