Vietnam steps up Nipah virus surveillance at border gates nationwide
The Vietnam Administration of Disease Prevention under the Ministry of Health has issued an urgent dispatch calling for enhanced surveillance and prevention of the Nipah virus at border gates nationwide.

Local authorities have been instructed to strengthen disease prevention and control measures at border gates, medical facilities and in the community, stay updated with global disease information, and closely monitor inbound travellers.
There is a low risk of the deadly Nipah virus spreading from India, the World Health Organization said on Friday, adding that it did not recommend travel or trade curbs after two infections reported by the South Asian nation.
