A person who bought a Powerball ticket in Rocklin recently came within one number of winning the jackpot in Wednesday's drawing.

A Powerball ticket sold in Rocklin won $5,717,713 but just missed the $483 million jackpot, lottery officials say. The ticket matched five winning numbers but not the Powerball in the drawing Wednesday, March 26, the California Lottery said. The ticket was sold at Rocklin Mini Mart at 4505 Pacific St., lottery officials said.

Participating in the lottery also helps support public education in California. Rocklin Mini Mart also net $28,500 for selling the ticket. The Powerball pot continues to grow after Wednesday's drawing and now stands at an estimated $515 million. The next drawing is on Saturday.
