INDIANAPOLIS — Emergency crews shut down sections of Washington Street and Alabama Street in the late afternoon of Friday, March 7 near downtown Indianapolis . A large number of emergency vehicles, including police, fire and ambulance services were seen in the area near the Julia M. Carson Transit Center and the City-County Building.

Six people were hospitalized Friday afternoon after authorities were called to downtown Indianapolis for a possible mass overdose.
