A man is dead and officials are investigating after a fire at a 3-story apartment building in north Minneapolis Monday evening.

A person was found dead in a building in Minneapolis following a fire on Monday. Fire crews responded to the 2500 block of Golden Valley Road around 5:07 p.m. on a report of a possible fire in a three-story residential apartment building.

Investigators say officers from the 4th Precinct and Park Police responded to the shooting around 7:16 p.m. Monday. Police say they found the man inside a home on the 1400 block of 50th Ave N. He was taken to North Memorial Hospital.

The man was brought to North Memorial Hospital for treatment. His age and identity are unknown at this time, according to police.
