ABC is renewing four dramas and one comedy series, Variety has learned. The Disney-owned broadcaster has picked up new seasons of “9-1-1,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “The Rookie,” and “Will Trent” as well as “Shifting Gears.

Nathan Fillion's John Nolan may be getting older, but the cops are staying the same age as The Rookie has been renewed for Season 8. It comes as part of a slew of renewals for ABC, which also revealed that it is bringing back Grey's Anatomy for Season 22,

Not on the renewal list at the moment: Doctor Odyssey, the first-year drama from Ryan Murphy Television that stars Joshua Jackson as a cruise-ship doctor. Sources say ABC and the show’s team are talking about the show’s creative direction and a decision on season two has yet to be made.
