They’re 22-15 after the deal, and now own the AL’s second Wild Card spot after previously being out of playoff positioning.

The Boston Red Sox acquired left-handed pitcher Steven Matz from the St. Louis Cardinals late Wednesday night. Boston reportedly sent infielder Blaze Jordan to the Cardinals in exchange for Matz, who is in the final year of a four-year, $44 million deal. Jordan spent parts of the last three seasons with the Portland Sea Dogs.
