According to the Galveston County Daily News, the incident occurred shortly after 5 p.m. on Tuesday. Photos on social media showed shards of broken glass and dishes, overturned chairs, and scattered straws and sugar packets throughout the restaurant.

Authorities said the chase started on the Gulf Freeway near Scarsdale and ended on Broadway at 54th Street. The driver was shot and killed by officers.
