Rescue crews in Myanmar pulled a 26-year-old man out alive from the rubble of the capital city hotel where he worked early Wednesday, but most teams were finding only bodies five days after a massive earthquake hit the country.

The earthquake’s epicenter was near the country’s second-largest city Mandalay, and so far the military-run government has reported 2,065 people killed, more than 3,900 injured, and 270 missing.

Malaysia’s rescue team saved a victim who had been trapped for over 72 hours under the rubble after last week’s earthquake in Myanmar. Deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi announced that the Special Malaysia Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (Smart) found a man in his 40s in a state of shock in a residential area in the central Sagaing region of Myanmar – which was the epicentre of the earthquake.
