A 77-year-old Cape Cod man is recovering after he was attacked after a "No Kings" protest in Hyannis this weekend. Jeffrey Smith was left bruised, cut up and concussed after police say he was punched several times in an assault following Saturday's rally.
Crowds are gathering and the Fort Collins "No Kings" protest is getting underway. The No Kings II Day protest, a sequel to a June 14 event, is billed by organizers as a peaceful rally for democracy and against authoritarian rule. It's taking place near Old Town, at Civic Center Park.
Irish police have come under attack at a protest outside a hotel used to house asylum seekers in Dublin. Footage from the scene at the Citywest Hotel showed a police vehicle on fire. Irish state broadcaster RTÉ is reporting that several thousand people have gathered outside the hotel.
The first "No Kings" Chicago protest was held in June in Daley Plaza and drew tens of thousands of demonstrators. Saturday's protest has been moved to Grant Park, a larger area that can accommodate more people.
