Did you know that beavers will share their lodges with muskrats in the winter? Last night at Georgette’s lodge there were at least 3 muskrats hanging out. Did you know that beavers will share their home and food with muskrats for the winter? ChewBarka and his family have taken in a muskrat this year. When I went to the lodge yesterday, this little muskrat popped out of the side entrance, had a quick swim, and then ducked back in the main entrance. Earlier today I showed a beaver eating duckweed. Muskrats love duckweed too. Muskrats are also rodents, but are less than 10% of a beaver’s size.
