Today we're delighted to give you a new view of operations at Immingham Bulk Terminal (IBT), our port facility on the banks of the Humber estuary. IBT is a key part of our business as it welcomes in shipments of raw materials before our colleagues unload them using our huge Tukan cranes. The raw materials, in this instance KPF ore fines from the Rik Oldendorff which berthed last week, are then transported a short distance up the track to our Scunthorpe site. Immingham Bulk Terminal is an integral part of our operations. Our port facility on the Humber estuary is where some of our raw materials are shipped in, and some of our steel is shipped out to customers across the world. In this short video taken on Friday, you can see iron ore being unloaded from the Lime Alina. It is being moved by one of our new unloaders – part of a £30-million investment at the terminal. From the port, the ore will be transported to our Scunthorpe site for ironmaking. #Bui

US$80-m port expansion - Jamaica Observer

Over the weekend we welcomed one of largest ever vessels to sail into Immingham Bulk Terminal – the Hedwig Oldenorff. This incredible bulk carrier, which is nearly 300m long and 45m wide, arrived at our port terminal with a valuable load of iron ore fines. After being unloaded at Immingham, the fines will be transported to our headquarters at Scunthorpe to support our ironmaking operations. #BuildingStrongerFutures | British Steel
