When he came to the U.S. in 2015, Bughra Arkin didn't initially plan to open a restaurant. But he stayed in Los Angeles because back in China, his culture is being persecuted. Millions of Uyghurs have been detained in China, including Arkin's dad, in a vast network of camps – a system that the U.S. government has labeled a genocide. With the atrocities affecting his family back home, Arkin opened his restaurant Dolan's in 2019 to spread awareness and serve traditional dishes of the Uyghur people
